Last month, we introduced a new blog series called the “Artisan Spotlight” which introduces the newest Artisan of the Month. Nominated by their Deacom peers, these professionals are successfully making a difference in not just Deacom’s business, but also our customers.

We are excited to announce August’s Artisan of the Month: Denise Mruskovic, Lead Data Conversion Specialist.

Here is what some of Denise’s co-workers had to say:

  • Denise does whatever it takes to make her customers happy. Just last month she successfully managed two go-lives at the same time – literally. She had two monitors and two GoToMeetings going on at the same time.
  • As the lead in her department, Denise oversees the development of six employees while still managing a full slate of customers.
  • Denise goes above and beyond for her team. She has spent many weekends and nights working to help us meet our deadlines.
  • She is our go-to subject matter expert on all things Data and has an incredible work ethic.

So who is Denise? Check out her Artisan of the Month Q&A to see why everyone enjoys working with her:

Describe your role at Deacom?Deacom Artisan - Denise

DM: My title is Lead Data Conversion Specialist so I manage and lead the Data Department. The Data team has a vital role in helping our customers extract, transform, and load their data into DEACOM.

When and how did you come to work at Deacom?

DM: I started at Deacom in 2011. After 20+ years at my previous company, it was sold and the corporate office was shutdown. DEACOM was my first interview and the rest is history.

What do you enjoy most about working at Deacom?

DM: I enjoy the many facets of my position. I get to use my technical skills and also get to manage and coach other employees. It is satisfying to learn new things and share this knowledge with customers and fellow employees.

What has been your favorite project at Deacom so far? Why?

DM: My favorite project involved a trip to Alaska where I helped our customer convert to a new version of DEACOM.  Alaska was beautiful and I hiked to the top of Flattop Mountain. The view was amazing.

What excites you most about the technology industry?

DM: The strides in what mobile apps can do is exciting. It allows users to make the most of their time.

What do you like to do when you’re not at the office?

DM: I enjoy hiking and spending time with my family and friends.

What is something that people would be surprised to learn about you?

DM: I am very frugal. I bought a two-story, Dutch colonial house for a dollar and moved it five miles down the road. That is the house I live in today.

Tell us a little bit about your bobblehead.

DM: I am holding a wand because everyone thinks we do magic in the data department.  I have to admit my team is magical. Thanks, Maggie (and Doug) for the idea!

“Denise is a wonderful asset to Deacom –  performing her magic for us every day!  She provides leadership and support to our Data Team, all while carrying a full customer load.  Denise continually impresses and amazes us with the high volume of quality work she produces.”

– Carol Martin, Deacom’s Director of Human Resources
